Data Standards Manual

General Information

The UNC Asheville Data Standards Manual is a consolidation of the good practices which have been in place, many discussions on ways to improve data validity, and the necessity of producing a document for continuing and new employees to perform their data maintenance functions.

Data standards are vitally important in protecting the data assets of the institution and the university takes upholding these standards seriously.

The implementation of an ERP System was the impetus for the formation of the Data Standards Committee at UNC Asheville.  This committee is responsible for resolving issues that may arise when many areas share common data.

It is the intent for each standard to be reviewed on a regular basis.
