IT Purchasing

ITS provides IT-related purchasing assistance to academic and administrative departments. ITS works closely with Purchasing and Finance to obtain best prices through approved state contract vendors. Personal purchases are not handled by ITS.

ITS manages software licensing for campus site-licensed software and works with departments to ensure that software is licensed, legitimate, and up-to-date.

Computer purchases must be in accordance with the UNC General Administration's Combined Pricing Initiative (CPI). CPI allows the campus to leverage the buying power of the entire UNC System and meets requirements set by the North Carolina General Assembly. Participation in CPI is mandatory for all UNC System school.

Your supervisor must reply to that email noting their approval before information or quotes will be gathered. Departmental budget officers, Deans, and Vice Chancellors do not require supervisor approval to obtain information and quotes.
