Wireless Access

802.11g wireless access is currently available in the following areas:

  • Ramsey Library
  • Highsmith Union
  • University Hall (partial)
  • Reuter Center
  • Phillips Hall
  • Karpen Hall
  • Robinson Hall
  • Zeis Hall
  • New Hall
  • Zagier Hall
  • Owen Hall
  • Carmichael Hall and Humanities Lecture Hall
  • Carol Belk Theater
  • Weizenblatt Health Center
  • Lipinsky Hall
  • Residence Halls (Founders, Mills, So. Ridge, West Ridge, Governors) commons areas
  • Willma Sherrill Health & Wellness (in final stages)
  • Governors Village (Ashe, Gardner, Hoey, Moore, Scott) when officially open

Connecting to Wireless Network  (UNC Asheville Faculty, staff and students)

You can connect to UNC Asheville Wireless with Wi-Fi capable computers, PDAs, and smartphones. Please see the instructions that came with your device for specifics on getting connected. Please note that ITS does not support personally owned equipment.

  1. Connect to the "RockyNet" wireless network.
  2. Where prompted by your web browser or device, provide your UNC Asheville Security Account username and password.*

Guest Wireless Services

  1. Connect to the "Guest" wireless network
  2. Campus guests must contact their sponsoring departments for guest login credentials.

* If you get an error message regarding an "SSL certificate", choose to continue.
